Embedded content will not load

If you get the following error showing up on your bio page:

"Something went wrong. Please try opening this link again. If you are the owner of this profile, click here for guidance"

Or there is another issue with the embedded content, please refer to the relevant section below, depending on the content you are trying to embed.

Latest YouTube Video

To embed the latest video from a channel, paste the Channel URL, or enter the channel ID. If the YouTube widget will not load on your profile page, it is likely you have entered it incorrectly.

YouTube links must be like one of these:

To get the Channel URL:

On Mobile: Select the 'Share' option in the menu and then select 'Copy Link'

On desktop: Look in the URL bar of your browser to find the link

Upon saving your custom links, you may notice the URL will have been shortened to just the Channel name, this is expected.

Specific YouTube Video

If you are embedding a specific YouTube video, simply paste the video URL. YouTube links must be like one of these:

  • youtu.be/ABCD

where ABCD is the unique video identifier. Upon saving your custom links, you may notice the URL will have been shortened to just the ABCD part, this is expected.

Spotify Widget

Go to the Spotify app, click 'Share' on the content you want to embed (for example a playlist) then click 'Copy Song Link' (or album link, etc) and paste the URL here. The link should look like one of these:

  • https://open.spotify.com/show/ABCD

where ABCD is the unique video identifier.

Spotify only allows a 30 second preview of each song to be played unless the user is logged in to Spotify. Podcasts are available without being signed in.

The Spotify Widget provides a button that users can press to be taken to the full Spotify app or website if they would prefer.

Lastest Tweet From Account

You can embed the latest tweet from any Twitter account onto your linkchain page. Simply add a Custom Link of type 'Embedded Latest Tweet' and provide the @handle of the Twitter account you want to use.

Visitors to your Link In Bio will be able to view the latest tweet from your account, and next time you post a tweet, it will show up on your linkchain page without you having to update anything.

If it is not loading correctly on your page, double check the spelling of your Twitter username. Remember it is the username you need (the bit after the @ symbol) rather than the display name of the account.

Specific Tweet

To show a specific tweet, you must enter the URL link of the tweet.

The link should be in this format:

where ACCOUNTUSERNAME is the name of the twitter profile, and the numbers on the end refer to the specific tweet ID.

Live Twitch Stream

Enter the twitch channel username to load the twitch widget, which includes the live video stream and live chat.

If you have entered an invalid username, the widget will let you know the account cannot be found. Double check your spelling of the account username if this occurs.

GoFundMe Campaign

If your GoFundMe campaign widget loads with a message stating the campaign cannot be found, then you have connected to the GoFundMe servers, but the campaign does not exist at the URL specified. It is likely you have made an error in the URL link you provided.

Links should look like one of these:

  • https://gofund.me/abcdefg

Vimeo Video

The widget will not load if the link is not valid.

The link should be in this format:

Typeform Survey

If the widget does not load, or you get a generic landing page on the Typeform website, then the link you entered is invalid.

Pinterest Profile

You can embed a Pinterest Profile to your page.

Links should look like one of these:

where ACCOUNTNAME is the name of the Pinterest Profile.

Regional variations of the Pinterest webiste, such as .co.uk are permitted.

Pinterest Board

You can embed a Pinterest Board to your page.

Links should look like one of these:

where ACCOUNTNAME is the name of the Pinterest Profile that owns the Board, and BOARDNAME is the name of the Board to be embedded.

Regional variations of the Pinterest webiste, such as .co.uk are permitted.

Facebook Video

You can embed Facebook Videos into your linkchain. To do this, go to the video, click Share and then click Copy Link. Do NOT select any option to Embed the video, this creates embed code that we don't need.

If, on your public profile, the Facebook widget says the content is not available, ensure that the content is publically available and not in a private group or profile.

Please note: Reels are not supported.

Facebook Post

You can embed Facebook Posts into your linkchain. To do this, go to the post, click Share and then click Copy Link. Do NOT select any option to Embed the video, this creates embed code that we don't need.

If, on your public profile, the Facebook widget says the content is not available, ensure that the content is publically available and not in a private group or profile.

bandsintown

You can embed bandsintown into your linkchain. To find your bandsintown Artist Page URL, visit your Artist Profile on bandsintown and copy the URL link. Paste it here. The link should be in this format: (where XXX is your unique ID)

If, on your public profile, the widget continuously fails to load, your Artist ID has been saved incorrectly. We try to retrieve the Artist ID from the URL you give us, and convert it to the required format. On the setup in your account portal for this Custom Link, check that the artist ID has been saved in the format:

  • id_XXX

where XXX is your Artist ID. If it hasn't, enter the above into the input box and replace XXX with your Artist ID that can be found in the URL link from your bandsintown profile.
